- 1Privacy, semi-privacy, and picket panel styles
- 2UV-stable panels that will not yellow in Florida sun
- 3Reinforced posts and routed rails, not surface-screwed
Vinyl is the fence we recommend most often to homeowners who do not want to think about their fence again. It does not rot at the bottom the way wood does, it does not need staining, and a garden hose is the only maintenance it asks for.
The difference between a vinyl fence that lasts and one that cracks is in the parts you cannot see: the wall thickness of the panel, whether the rails are routed through the posts or screwed to the surface, and whether the posts are reinforced for gates and wind. We use UV-stable panels and reinforced posts so the fence holds its shape through a Florida summer.
Vinyl costs more up front than wood. If you are planning to sell within a year or two, that math may not work in your favor, and we will tell you. If you are staying put, the lifetime cost usually comes out lower because you never re-stain it.
